Pictured above is a monumental custom repousse copper weathervane of Lady Liberty. She stands with "Liberty" sword, holding aloft the American flag. The eagle motif at the base was inspired by noted New England woodcarver John Haley Bellamy. The ribbon reads "American Museum in Britain". The Banner is inscribed with two dates 1961-2011 to commemmorate the 50 year anniversary of the Museums opening. This weathervane, which measures nearly 8ft. tall, was commissioned to celebrate the opening of the Museums new Folk Gallery.
