This graceful stylized swan with traditional arrow is produced using a simpler construction method: an example of repousse metalsmithing in it's purest form. Like the weathervanes produced in America in the 18th and 19th century, here the copper is intricately detailed and shaped from only two halves. Technically referred to as a swell-bodied weathervane, it is part of a limited edition pair. The softly undulating surface and the addition of 23.5 K gold leaf detail on the arrow, allows the sun to truly dance upon the metals surface. This weathervane is currently displayed outdoors, on a rustic steel post.
