The chart above is intended to help clients determine the most suitable size weathervane for their property. Many of the designs in the portfolio fall between the "large" and "standard" sizes. Size is very much an aesthetic decision, but can be informed by the building itself, including roof shape, pitch, height & architectural features (i.e. chimneys, cupolas, gables etc.)

Small= for a small garage, Standard= for a large garage or two-storey home/cottage, Large= for a substantial family home or barn
X-large= for a large barn, commercial building or at considerable height (i.e. church spire)

*internal (bracket): Our weathervane bracket is designed to attach to a cross-member within the structure of the roof. Where access within the roof is not possible, a custom bracket can be made. See our Installation page for more information.

Weathervane Styles:

Classic: Folk, stylised or iconic motifs produced with a focus on strong three-dimensional form, purity of line & visual impact. The new numbered series will concentrate on developing a range of classic designs, to be produced in editions of 25. These designs are well suited for the standard size range.

Ornate: Greens' hallmark style of meticulous and ornate detail combined with sculptural realism, including some of the most popular designs from the original numbered series. Ornate designs tend to be large, as some detail may be compromised if the design is too small.

Custom: Like the ornate style of weathervane, custom commisions are typically highly detailed, but sometimes borrow from both the classic and the ornate aesthetic. In many cases, custom designs include a stylised banner or arrow with a house name, date or inscription. Commissioning a weathervane allows the client to personalize a motif, whilst controlling both budget and size.
